Ukukhetha umshini wokuhlola ofanele wokuhlolwa kwamandla okudonsa, okucindezelayo, okugobayo, okusika, okukhumulayo, nokudabukayo kudinga ukucatshangelwa ngokucophelela kwezinto eziningi, okubandakanya ububanzi bamandla, ubukhulu besampula, izindinganiso zokuhlola, namakhono omshini.
